There's No Need To Worry

When plans change and circumstances don't turn out the way we wanted, worry easily invades our minds. We allow our circumstances to justify our worries when in reality, there should be no reason for us to worry. God knows what we need and has already gone before us. There's no need to worry.

As a Christian, I know not to worry but I still found myself worrying over my financial situation. God had asked me to let go of my full-time job to pursue Living Revelations Ministries. This was such an inconvenient time for me because I just got married and my husband is currently not working full time either.

I found myself racing with doubtful thoughts like "How are we going to keep ourselves sustained in the long run? We have to eat, we have to pay the bills", and the list went on. My worries became severe that I started having bad thoughts about my husband and where God was calling me.

During my time with God, He told me to go to Matthew 6. My immediate response to Him was, "I already know Matthew 6." That chapter is the chapter where God says do not worry and says even the birds in the sky have food to eat and etc. But He kept pressing me to open to that chapter so I did.

As I read Matthew 6, this passage hit me:

"So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them." Matthew 6:31-32

God reminded me that He knows what I need. If he knows what I need, why am I worrying about what I need?

He knows that I need to eat and survive and He would never ask me to do something that would harm my future. His word says He has plans to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

God has already gone ahead of me and knows the best for me. My parent-in-laws even opened their home for us to stay temporarily as we look for a home for ourselves. God reminded me that He knew we needed a place to live so He put it in my parent-in-laws hearts to do so.

Worrying disregards the fact that God has already gone before us and has planned good things ahead of us.

The Lord opened my eyes to see that He knows what I need and that it's not my job to worry about it. Worrying doesn't help our situation but only leads us to sin and bad thoughts. Matthew 6:27 says, "Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

God gave me a vision of a girl in a nice mansion, worrying about what she will eat and what she will wear. God said I was that girl. I believe many of us are like that girl in that mansion, resting in the care of our heavenly father who is rich with abundant treasures, yet worrying about our lives and how we will survive.

If we are in right standing with God and living in the will of God, we don't have to worry about our lives. God promises that the righteous will inherit His blessings. Psalm 37:25-26 says, " I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing."

God also says in Psalm 37:18 "The blameless spend their days under the Lord's care, and their inheritance will endure forever."

God is a good father who blesses His children. He will never forsake those who dwell in His shelter. God says those who dwell in His shelter will rest in His shadow (Psalm 91:1). When we choose to abide in Him, we can be sure that He will be the protector of our lives.

Have you been dwelling in worry? Will you entrust your life to Jesus as you surrender your life Him?

God knows where He's leading you. It may seem scary and His plans may not be your plans, but trust that His plans are always better. He knows the best way for you to get to your promise land. This is the year to step out in faith and follow Him. So remember, there's no need to worry.

Help My Unbelief

The walk of faith isn’t always easy. There may be moments when we will doubt what God has told us, but He is always faithful. God doesn’t give up on us in our unbelief. If we come to Him and ask him to help our unbelief, He will. By God’s grace, He will help us believe.

If you had told me this time last year that I would pick up my things and join a group of like-minded individuals to go out in the world to become missionaries across the nations, I would have laughed in your face.

It was impossible. I didn’t have the funds by any means, but God made it possible.

I didn’t have the money to make my deposit for school, but I later found out within a week that I exceeded that amount by almost double of what was owed. God faithfully brought people into my life to give what I needed. By the weekend of me leaving my full-time job, I was fully funded.

I am now a part of Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in Kona, Hawaii, learning how to use the talents of music that God has given me to be able to glorify God throughout the nations. I am ecstatic to be here, but the path to get here did not come easy. I had times of doubt when I didn’t believe that God was real and would provide for me.

Through this, I’ve learned that it is okay to ask Him to help our unbelief. When we ask Him to help us, He reveals Himself to us because He is a good Father. He always replaces doubt with knowledge; fear with peace; and hopelessness with hope. Every time I had a moment of doubt that I was meant to go to YWAM, He always confirmed it for me.

God is faithful. He only needs our small mustard seed of faith and obedience to do what only He can do. Jesus says in Matthew 17:20, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

When we come to Him with the little faith we have, He will take that and give us more faith and strength to move forward. We have everything we need in Christ. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13)

When we realize that Jesus is the source for all our needs, He will be the one we look to in time of need. 1 Corinthians 1:8-9 says, “He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” It is by His grace that we can walk this life of faith.

What impossibilities are you facing right now? Will you come to Jesus and ask Him to help your unbelief?

Believe that Jesus is all you need. Jeremiah 33:3, “Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.” God wants to share His plans for you. He is a father that will not decline His child’s invitation to be with Him. When we ask Him to comfort us, He will. When we seek Him with all our heart, we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).

When was the last time you asked God to help you?

We may not fully be convinced in God’s ways, but we must remember to ultimately put our trust in Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

In your unbelief, remember that His ways are higher than your ways and His thoughts higher than your thoughts. Even though it seems like there’s no end to the season you’re in, He will lead you out of it and will bless you as you follow Him through the storms of life. So remember, ask Jesus to help your unbelief
